After a hiatus of 2 years, it's time to revive this space again!! Wanted my first post to be about my solo trip to Bangkok 2 weekends ago, but this weekend has been pretty hectic and I guess it makes more sense for me to blog about this week first before it ends.
Last Sunday was pretty chill. Slept in after a night of partying at Levon's 21st, headed to Cheryl's place for her housewarming. Awesome food - i love the curry so yumz. Headed to Henderson Waves after. Been so long since I've last been there I almost forgot how much I love the peace I get there.
Monday was a PH in lieu of Hari Raya, no raya-ing this time round but managed to meet up with Jolene before she scoots back to Brisbane that night. Had lunch at Golden Mile before heading to meet her poly clique at Upper Thomson for some Salted Caramel. Before heading back, the boys suggested that we try the Upp Thomson roller coaster ride aka one of the equipment at the playground at the Thomson Estate Park. Supposedly it was for the girl who was flying off to try, but I had a go at it too, pretty hilarious, giddy but crazy fun. I felt like a hamster, legit. Thinking back, I don't know why I agreed to do it but I'm kind of glad I did, because I don't think I'll ever do something like that/have someone ask me to do that anytime else. Thankfully this work week wasn't as crazy as the past week, because Shan is back on air! Managed to finish my work promptly daily, so I got lucky enough to leave work on Wednesday in time for Weilin's convocation. NTU IS REALLY ONE ISLAND SO FUCKING FAR AWAY. YC drove but it still took us quite a while to reach. And we're there just to take photos with the graduate in her graduation robe lol. Had lunch at Star Vista after and of course the usual catch up session, though it was just 4 of us. Anyway, WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD WEILIN HAHAHA.
Thursday, last day of July, was the Beer Pong trade event for SPH Radios at Bianca, Forbidden City. Basically media agencies to come together in this event that we organise and they get to mingle with our DJs/team, to build rapport. Crowd was pretty good. Haven't had the chance to play Beer Pong but it does seem like fun. Shall try soon!
TGIF, managed to clear work in time, caught Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie had pretty raving reviews but I thought it was nothing very spectacular. Maybe because it's a Marvel film and I kind of expected more from it? Had tickets to Joe Labero's magic show by Margaret so headed to Raffles Hotel after the movie to catch it. My very first ever live magic show by a legit illusionist, though I've never heard of him till that day. It was so amazing I was so mind fucked. Do catch him at Raffles Hotel, Jubilee hall if you are interested, he'll be showing till October! Hung out at Esplanade after. SG's night lights are really pretty amazing.
Had Saturday brunch with Nat and Em before heading to Old Hen Coffee Bar, a new cafe opened in the neighbourhood run by Mason's twin brothers. We love their White Cold Brew and the buttermilk waffles which Nat and Em think its better than the one at Stranger's Reunion. Headed to Tanglin Shopping Centre for my dental appointment for laser teeth whitening. It's like a 1 hour session whereby they apply whitening gel on your teeth and shine a laser light on them. I took the intensive treatment which requires them to change the gel every 15 minutes. Thank god my teeth didn't feel sensitive after the session, which more people might feel, just that I have to be more conscious about my food intake for the next week, to avoid food that will stain, so that the whitening thing can set. Met Nat and Em again after my session and we headed to Nakhon then to Serangoon Gardens for some KTV. Sunday was spent at the temple in the morning for grandpa's death anniversary, had lunch at Crystal Jade after with the cuzs and siblings and aunt. Got back home and started slothing, till now. Tomorrow is Monday SIGH
